Kubicek Balloons, one of the newer manufacturers to the hot air balloon market, builds its balloon systems exclusively in the Czech Republic. Kubieck's roots date back to the early 1980's when Aleš Kubíček with a group of enthusiasts designed and built their first model balloon and then their first full sized hot air balloon (black/white shown here). At the time ballooning was starting in Brno, Czecklosnovakia (prior to becoming the Czech Republic) the countries communist regime

frowned on all private aviation activities, particularly those of ballooning which by its nature is difficult to supervise. In order to keep the sport alive and stay on the right side of the law, Aleš Kubíček moved the production of his balloons and the flying of them under the supervision of Aerotechnik, which was owned by the state military organization. Shortly after the "Velvet Revolution" Aleš Kubíček and his team began building their balloons in a tenement at the end of Francouzskďż˝ Street and Kubicek Balloons was born.

In 1996 a factory was opened in Černá Hora, near Brno, to manufacture Polyester balloon fabric for their balloons - thus Kubicek Balloons was officially in large-scale production of their aircraft including all associated components including state-of-the-art basket and burner systems.
Kubicek is now manufacturing balloons for clients across the globe. They have produced balloons for the corporate as well as the sport/fun flyers. They are a formidable competitor when it comes to special shape balloons, corporate/advertising and sport balloons. Pictured are some of the literally hundreds of balloons Kubicek has produced to date.
