Cameron Balloons

Cameron Balloons, founded in Bristol, England in April of 1971 when Omega Balloons split into Western and Cameron Balloons. Now more than 42 years later Cameron Balloons continues to thrive with both European and US facilities located in Bristol, England and Ann Arbor, MI respectively.

Donald Allan Cameron (pictured here) formed a group that would build the first modern hot air balloon in Western Europe, the balloon was called the "Bristol Belle", first flown on July 9th, 1967 (left, red and white) and as they say, "the rest is history".

Donald Cameron Balloons Ltd., Bristol, built one of the world's first special shaped  hot air balloons in 1976, aptly named Golli III (pictured below) for a popular children’s toy. The Cameron name and aircraft have graced the skies above with some of the most intricate and amazing special shaped balloons the likes of Swatch Watch, Case Tractor, Despicable Me and Disney - just to name a few.

Cameron/Omega Balloon 1971

Back in the early 1970's Cameron Balloons was featured in a McCann Erickson television commercial.  The MARTINI campaign "The Right One" was conceived by Barry Day.  Click the MARTINI logo (right) to view this vintage advertisement.
